Originating from Japan, Haiku is the shortest form of poetry in the world. In a short descriptive verse, 
it captures a moment in the poet's life, or simply expresses the beauty of nature. Haiku is now enjoyed 
in many countries around the world. Entrants to The Japan Society run competition were asked to compose their own haiku on the theme of ‘Living Things’ and submit it with an accompanying illustration. The judging panel this year included representatives of Japan Airlines, The Embassy of Japan, The World Haiku Club and The Japan Society. Congratulations to the following winning students:
