Christmas lights switch on
Sixth form students took part in the annual Kirk Ella and West Ella Parish Council Christmas lights switch on outside the Wheatsheaf.
The choir from Kirk Ella St Andrews Primary sang a selection of carols before our Head Girl Hannah, supported by students Chloe, Georgia and Sam, flicked the switch on the Christmas lights. The event was very well supported by the local community and once again provided a great start to this year’s Christmas festivities. Vice Chairman Shaun Horton and Councillor Doreen Kaye presided over events. Councillor Kaye said ‘I’m very pleased that we’ve had such a good turn out and that the weather’s been kind to us. The singing from the choir was delightful and the lights switch on went very smoothly. Thank you to everyone for joining us and Happy Christmas to our community.’ Head Girl Hannah said ‘It was an honour to be asked to switch on the lights and it was lovely to see such great community spirit.’
