Free School Meals

Is my child entitled to free school meals?

Over recent weeks families across the country have experienced and had to adapt to change as the government has sought to combat Coronavirus.  For some families this has also had an impact on household income, as many people are unable to work.

If your circumstances have changed and you would like to see if you are eligible to apply for free school meals, you can do so by following the link below:

Applications are managed by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. A contact number is included in the link about if you have any specific questions relating to eligibility.

My child currently receives free school meals

Provision is in place to ensure that all young people who are currently entitled to receive a Free School Meal continue to do so.

Initially, we moved to secure continued provision implementing a packed lunch and then a Trust sourced supermarket voucher scheme.  From Monday 20 April 2020, we will move provision across to the DfE provider EdenRed.  This scheme will provide supermarket vouchers to the value of £15 per child per week during the COVID-19 closure.

The DfE has produced Frequently Asked Questions guidance provided here for parents, outlining how the voucher process works.
