As a school, we aim to keep you informed of your child’s progress.  We do this through a combination of Progress Evenings and Progress Reports. 

Year 7 Settling-In and Meet the Tutor Evening 

As a school, we understand that our families want to feel reassured that their child is settling in well to secondary school.  To support this, we host a Settling-In and Meet the Tutor Parents’ Evening in the autumn term of Year 7.    

This evening provides an opportunity to come into school for a short meeting with your child’s tutor.  In addition, there is the opportunity to visit your child’s tutor room and other spaces they use including the Library and the Forum.  The Year 7 Team, Learning Support and the Senior Team are also on hand to answer any questions you may have.  This evening has a settling in focus rather than a progress focus at this early stage in your child’s secondary school journey. 

Progress Evenings 2024 – 2025 – Save the date 

Progress evenings provide an opportunity for parents and carers to come into school, meet with staff and discuss their child’s strengths and areas for development.  The dates for the coming year can be found below:

 * In response to parental feedback for Year 7 – 9 where staff teach multiple groups previously creating greater wait times, additional evenings have been added.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the evening you are allocated to as not all staff will be present on both evenings. 

Parents’ Evening Booking System 

Appointments to meet with staff on Parents’ Evening are booked through our online booking system.  A letter in sent from the school office to your email address approximately 2 weeks before the evening.  To access the booking system, please click here.

Progress Reports 

Whilst teachers assess knowledge retention and learning each lesson, this is evaluated and reported on more formally twice a year.   These biannual formal reporting points are when teachers consider all of the assessment information they have (from classwork and interim assessments) and communicate a child’s current performance.   

These formal progress reports are published to parents twice a year via Arbor.
